Upper Merion Lacrosse Club helping The Northern Home For Children
The mission of Northern Home for Children is to foster the development of self-confidence, resiliency and other life skills in at-risk children, youth and their families, primarily through the provision of behavioral health, child welfare, and preventive services.
How can we help?
1. Decorating Thank You Flower Pots for the Northern Home. This will take place May 6th & 7th by our girls teams.
2. Participating in the Northern Home's Miniature Golf Tournament for kids aged 4 -104! CLICK HERE for information.
3. Generations I is a residential program serving teen mothers ages 16 to 18, each with one child, who are in the DHS system. The young women are getting ready to “age out” of the children and youth system. Most of these teens and their babies have been in multiple placements- some together and some separately. The goal of this program is to provide these young mothers and their babies, with a safe, comfortable, and home-like atmosphere, where they will learn the independent living skills needed to be productive adults in society and good parents to the next generation.
Generations II program is a residential comprised of teen mothers ages 18-21 who are homeless. They have been referred to the Northern Home by the Achieving Independence Center of Philadelphia. Our Generations II program can house eight mothers each having up to two children. Generations II gives these young mothers the opportunity to get back on their feet through services such as parenting classes, tutoring and child care.
They are in need of the following items:
Canned Foods- corn, green beans, peas, vegetarian beans
Canned juices- boxed juices
If you would like to donate any of these items, we will have collection bins set up at the field to handle this.
